[RocketsNW] Launch Waivers

Hi Jack,

I can't speak to the specifics of the Sheridan waiver never having seen it
before. The altitudes listed on the directions pages on the OROC site
predate my assuming webmaster duties - I haven't edited those pages since I
became web dude.

IIIRC, TRA and NAR require a buffer for the waiver altitudes. 18.5K ft is
probably pushing that (the acutal waiver is for 25K ft MSL with the
elevation on site being 4500 ft that leaves 20.5K ft ). I do know that over
the years since I've been a member of OROC the waiver has been simplified.
It used to be slightly higher for scheduled launches and a little lower for
the non-scheduled weekends (the OROC waiver is good every weekend). The
last waiver only grants one set of altitudes (the regular waiver altitude
and the window altitude).

As one of the few fliers that can actually push that altitude, I can
understand your need to have this clear. I believe that OROC requires you
to seek the higher window if you are going to come very close to the
standard waiver altitiude.

Perhaps one of the OROC BoD's will clarify -- I can make any changes to
the site that they request. :-)

At the OROC site, in the Directions section, the page has the Waiver at
Brothers listed to be 20,000 AGL and Sheridan to be 4,500 AGL.? However, in
the Calendar section, the Waiver at Brothers is listed to be 18,500 AGL and
Sheridan to be 5,000 AGL.? Which numbers are the correct ones?? Thanks!

Jack
