Additionally a lot of the nose cone shapes people use with the long 
fineness ratios of 4 and 5 to one are designed for maximum altitude on a 
sub-sonic flight.  If one is planning on breaking Mach there are a lot 
better performing nose cones shapes that won't blank the fins and 
contribute to stability through the barrier.  Power series n = 1/2 
immediately with a fineness ratio closer to 3 immediately comes to mind.
